Sneaks made it to the Final table of the Main event
at the Walsall GUKPT.
Managed to persuade the Missus to let me go down and watch, so @1:30pm I got in the car and flew down. I also decided to play the £200 side event too. When I got there the Final table had already started , but i needn't have worried , because it was a cagey start and nobody exited the tourney for the first 2 hours. Strange these main event finals , sometimes they seem to be a very cautious affair and last for ages or at other times it will be train collisions right from the off as people decide to go for it. 7 of the 9 players had never really cashed big before , so probably explains the steady play.
It was great to see Sneaks do so well and he looked really confident , all the way really until he busted in 5th with a river bluff on a 4 heart board. Still a pay day of £18k for him and I'm sure he will be wanting to repeat this very quickly.
As for me , found myself in between Lucy Roakash and James Browning in the £200 jobby. Got a Nut flush to hit on the turn and paid off fairly well and then played well thru to the final table. Started off on the final table well and built my stack up to just above average at one stage, but then I started to play weak and got pushed off two pots when on reflection I should have called or pushed, and really let myself get anted away too much. I have to feel dissapointed with my play at the end. Still ended up 5th for £640 and even got myself some GUKPT ranking points.
I'll be playing the Blue Square league games this week as it is final week and want to ensure a top 20 play-off place even if the top spots are too far ahead now.

Quad 8s.....consider yourself Lucky....
Apologiesto all the thousands who read this, but to be honest there has been nothing to write about for the last week. No great days of triumphs and no awesome hands to speak of. A week of slight losses and bonus point gathering.
Until yesterday that is. And then this Om8 $2/$4 hand livened up the day.

The guy continued to hassle and abuse me in the chat box for 15 minutes after. In the end I just said " consider yourself Lucky...." , ".....if it had been PL you would have lost the lot". As it happened he had lost the lot anyway, but it served to wreck him even further. Fair enough to say he was on Tilt from that point forward.
Other news , was of a great home game night , won by the Greatest fish of all "devilperch" real name Chris Salmon. In fact he won both tourneys, and it was a night of laughs, with a 42 offsuit knockdown of KK being the highlight, or at least Jez's reaction was.
Sneaks is down at the Wallsall GUKPT , cashed for £540 in the side event Thursday and after the first day of the main event is sitting comfortable on 38k. Good Luck to him. Catch a little TV interview of him @ http://www.thenutz.tv/videodetail.php?video_id=66298
Hope to update sooner next time as that will mean some success or excitement at last. Deal 'em faster !

Quick Update~ Night time session
MORE SUCCESS, for the 3rd time in 4 weeks , I managed to satellite my way into the Crypto £40k on Sunday, courtesy of Pokerplex Freeroll. 11 first week, 22 in last night , so getting harder each time. In fact the only time I haven't qualified was when PsychoDave played it for me....there that should get a comment response.
Also played a lot of Omaha8 $2/$4 yesterday, ending about $50 down for the day. That deficit was reduced by some guy who turned up on the table at 12:30 , just when i was thinking of closing down for some ZZZZZ's, and began to play as though he didnt know the rules or was smashed out of his head. So I thought I would stick with it and see how long he lasted, soon it was just me and him heads-up. The last guy to leave the table left a message " carfund ..ENJOY". Well I didn't enjoy it really. He Bought in 4 times for a total of $200, but kept getting beats on me and winning the big pots, so I couldn't finish him off until well after 3am. In the end, of his $200, I had a $68 profit. That is the rake on the table for that 2 hours+ was $132 (later checked on PokerTracker and it had down $149.50 as rake for heads-up play).
These sites make a killing, no wonder they can afford to give me 31% back and a bonus each month.
Tonight is the satellite for entry into a special $300k tourney they have in May that will only have about 250 entrants and top 25 each win a $12k WSOP package. 1 in 10 win seats tonight. So here is hoping.

Off and running in 'League
Well here i am posting again ! Must have had a bit of success to write about ?
No great win, but good points for the Blue Square GUKPT league.
It was the PL Omaha rebuy, my fave game of the league and one i have an outstanding record in. Anyway was low chips for a long way including 4rebuys/add-ons, but as we got to final table slowly chipped back into contention. Very slow game but eventually I got to heads-up with "reputo" who had a 10:1 chip advantage over me. However I was sure I was going to win it and soon doubled thru a couple of times till I was only 3:1 down. But then I took my foot off the gas a little and fell away to come 2nd for about $400 and 12 points in the league.
I'm 7th in league now , really need another couple of good results to get properly in contention. Check it out here and click February standings http://www.bluesq.com/bluesquare/bspoker/bluesquarepokerleague.shtml
Not much on the horizon , tourney wise apart from the freeroll for Sunday £40k tonight ( just 19 reg for 5 seats at time of writing). So I will be mainly just plugging away at the cash games and bonus whoring at PokerPlex.

The League has begun
So Monday, I log in for the Blue Square GUKPT league game. I am chip leader after 5 min and stay in top 5 for 2 hours.....the new league is all going to plan. Suddenly I push in twice against short stacks who really are not priced to call, yet donk their chips in with total filth and hit. Then take on the chip leader with A , J on a push of 4BB and he calls with 8 , 3. I dont need to explain what happens next. So I crash out 15/111 for a little over my cash back and 1 poxy point in the league.
Tuesday and it is the rebuy, I start well and am 2nd for a while and stay in and around the top 10 till after the break. 'Im gonna get points every day' I think. Go a bit card dead, so raise to 4BB on a large stack limper from late position with AJ. BB calls as does limper. "Whoops, do I push?", well flop makes up my mind as it is J , 8 , 3 . Perfect ! BB checks, Limper bets 3k , I move in for the rest and a nice position back in the top 5. But things dont go to plan , Mr. Large Stack calls and flips over 8 , 8 for Trips. FFS exits 30 something.
Tonight it was the $25 PL game.....I like Pot Limit and think I have an edge here. But I get very little or rather make very little despite getting AA twice , but I then bounce back with a river saver and am looking nicely placed. But my JJ runs into QQ on the final table bubble and Im out for another poxy single point.
So 3 games played , 2 Points and $37 down. GREAT VALUE THIS LEAGUE ! ....oooh did i forget to mention........ if your winning?
Still not giving up and will be back playing my fave tomorrow , the $10 PL Omaha rebuy. Must have won this comp about 6 times in the past, so deal em up cause tomorrow is when I begin my push for the league title. LOL

Feb plan
So this Feb, Im gonna try and keep away from general tourneys and only play those with added value~ ie those with added money , gaurantees that dont reach, freerolls (worth playing), and other promotional tourneys.
One Im definitely going to aim for is the Blue Square League this time around, It is basically for 3 weeks with the following added money tourneys ~
"Monday 8.15pm$20 NL Hold’em Freezeout $200 Added
Tuesday 8.15pm$10 NL Hold’em Rebuy $100 Added
Wednesday 8.15pm$25 PL Hold’em Freezeout $300 Added
Thursday 8.15pm$10 PL Omaha Rebuy $100 Added
Sunday 8.15pm$30 NL Holdem $500 Added"
so 15 tourneys in total, about $400 in buy-ins for the month inc. rebuys. Winner of the league gets a seat to the GUKPT champion of champions final in Dec and there are some online GUKPT tokens for 2nd-4th, also top 20 play off for a special 10k tourney @ Vic in March.
All in all great value !
Think I will also play the Will Hill added money games on Mon, Wed and Friday and going to play the APAT tourneys on Blue Square just cause I want one of those medals !!
Other than that it will be cash games.

Monthly accounts
Before I do these a quick congrats for Sneaks who qualified for the Walsall GUKPT last night, he has had a fair few near misses online, so will be glad to get this one landed. Good Luck mate
So for January
Poker Plex : up $20 for 9,000 hands played !!
PokerStars: up $240
Classicpoker: up $130
Blue Square: down $180
Playing Live: up $360 (£180)
In total for playing up $570
Bonus of $500 and rakeback in region of $300
So +$1370 for the month. Hardly the riches I am hoping for and Ive spent more than that as I took £900 out for decorating this month, so my bankroll has actually depleted some.
Still a good month online or a biggish cash in one of the comps might get my bankroll up towards the $10k+, that I would feel more comfortable with.
On one of the PL Omaha tables yesterday was an intersting player, he was sitting with over $700 in front of him and remember it is just a $50 max bring-in to the table, so he had aquired more than 14 buy-ins off people. The remarkable thing was that he was playing 96.9% of flops and raising on 76% of them and still winning with an enormous stack in front of him!
I sat down and decided I would short stack play him. So sure enough he raised and i folded until I got a hand, when i would then flat call and then push on any part of the flop. He sucked out on me twice like this, including where I had KKQ10 on a K33 flop. check raised him only for him to push again and put me all-in. "Lovely jubbly" I thought until he flipped 3369 for quads !!
Well I guess that wasnt a suck out and he was a chatty guy, said he was just relaxing from his normal $5/10 NL games. "This is fun" he said as he raised the pot for the 15th time in a row !
For the record I did get back at him and eventually left the table with about $100.
No real changes of plan this month yet, so Deal em up in Feb
