Well another new year, thought I would have a nother crack at the blog thing.

I have had a hard year or two as I have just finished getting divorced and the blog has kind of been kicked to the kerb. I won't go on about the comings and goings of the last 18 months as it isn't really inspirational or even that interesting, but will move forward with the poker side of things.

I have found the game that I feel I am a sure winner at. My Omaha Hi/Lo stats (I will link/post them in a later blog) are pretty good at both SNGs and MTTs, so will be focusing online mainly at these. I think I am probably a winning player at NLHE MTTs, but havent had a top place success in that over the last year really.

So my main online games will be the $16 NLO8 (18 man SNGs on Stars) and I aim to play 300 of these a month. That will be my only target I think, not going to bother with win rates or a certain $profit, just to play a min of 300 SNGs a month.
I will however also play a fair few MTTs, either the N/PLO8 games or the evening thousand of entry NLHE games ( $3r, $40kgtee and sunday $1/4 Million) looking for a big win as these all pay 10k+ for first.
I will also of course play any +EV opportunities that arise in leagues or specials.

AS far as live goes, I am not travelling for any standard evening game. So looking mainly at the £100-£150 range or there abouts. I have thoughts about the PokerSatrs UK tour games @£500 a pop and try to get some staking, but getting out of work is just too awkward to make these realistic.
Will also play a local Wednesday league and run some of our local tour games too.

New Year = New Opportunities

No updates for a while, but got a few big issues going on at the moment. Some of you know what I am on about.

I will put up the monthly and yearly figures later, but nothing to write home about, pretty even in Nov and slight profit in Dec due to winning a local pub league comp.

The next live event on the calendar is the APAT UK Team Championships in Manchester on 23rd Jan. I have put the team together based on results, but every man and his horse wanted to play and have complained about this and that or suggested "better ways" to pick. Having said that, the way I chose probably isn't the best way of getting a team , but it is definitely a fair way of picking it as I have based it on our local Tour and league winners. I rest my case and if we come away from the w/end with more than hangovers it will have been more than worth it.

And the other exciting news is that I have put down a deposit for VEGAS baby!!! Next October for Salmon's 40th. As good as an excuse as any.

My Mate can Play (2)

Well now my other mate ( I know, I know, I have 2 Mates !! )can play too as he phoned me from the BoylePoker "Sponsor a Pro" comp in Dublin last night trying to be cool.
Mate~ "oh I'm in Dublin"
Me~ "How d'ya get on?"
Mate~ "Oh yeh I won it"
AS cool as you like and very matter of fact. Then got all excited and asked me to stick it on the FurnessPoker forum.
Great Prize for Daz, a 10,000 Euro deal to play in any tourneys he likes I think. Wonder what he will play ???
Unfortunately being a Sponsored player does have it's downside. Look at this hoody he had to wear !!

And also in the words of Pokerstars support who sent me a email letting me know I have finally got there. Not that it means much except I get 5 little red stars next to my icon and I earn FPP's (rakeback equivalent) 50% quicker. Having seen my form there in cash recently though might not be worth having after all....probably even detrimental.
Still got 3 freerolls at Stars this Saturday, the $100k, $75k & $30k, although it will be Robo who is playing them for 50% as I swoop out and take on the B'pool £100 monthly game. Let's hope it is no horrow show for me at the tables this Halloween ~ GOD my blog is lame.

Also have played the comp in Ireland and the APAT, but unlikely to report much on them as they have been pretty dull without any hands of great interest and sadly no success to report either. Although Ireland was a great, if expensive w/end.

Could be this weeend too as I'm off to Dublin for the IPO with HoneyM, Sneaks,Trainglot and the monster that is Devileperch. Should be good and we might even win a buck or two!! Full report promised for next write-up.
